Mountain traverses don’t come any more spectacular or difficult then this high altitude route from the Barun Glacier to the Khumbu. Such a venture goes way beyond the bounds of what is normally described as trekking as it involves spending eight days and nights above 5000 meters and crossing three high mountain passes, two of which exceed 6100 meters. This is a classic mountaineering outing and should only be undertaken by those with the experience to deal with such environments. All members of the group must be fit and proficient at moving over glaciers and snowfields carrying heavy packs. Begain by walking to Makalu base camp spend at least two days here acclimatizing before setting off west.
