The trek starts from Kathmandu to Jiri by bus or fly to Lukla airport. At Jiri a very rare tribe called the Jiri gal inhabitants the area. At first the trek crosses through many passes and then reaches Sherpas valleys, passing through monasteries and Lamjura pass (3500 m). The flora and fauna in this area is Rhododendron. The treks go down to slopes an up, and also the possibility of snowfall is. Mera Peak is easier but to reach the high camp (Mera La) is quite difficult, the other option is to return to Lukla or directly to Amphu Lapcha. There are Lake nestles like a sparkling jewel amongst verdant-forested hills at the heart of Nepal’s second least visited National Park. At just over 5 km (3 miles) in length, it is the largest body of water in the country.
